i was told that on hondas that the stock radio is tied into the remote lock system. i've installed about 3 aftermarket headunits in my previous cars and am willing to do the same with my 2002 civic ex. can anyone clarify or confirm this possible issue? thank you in advance...you can also respond to my email address.

It was only on a certain run of cars from a certain year or 2 (pre 7th gen), so you have the all clear

That was on the 6th gen, not the 7th gen. No problems on our cars. IBTL... this has been covered at least 10 times before.

my dad was telling me how his pilot has that where if you remove the stero you cant steal the car, but ares dont have it otherwise we probaly wouldnt be able to switch out headunits
