civic 2001 ex manual ashtray and foglight combination

I need to know if theres anyone here using both the ashtray and lighter set in conjunction with the factory honda fog lights.
I been researching and it doesnt seem like they can both be used at the same time.
Mostly because the ashtray connects to the fuse box 6-pin. and the fog lights also need that connection the male 6-pin in the fuse box. If anyone is using the foglights with the ashtray please let me know how you modified it.

I had both a while back, the dealer hooked it up when i bought the car. No bigie, unplug the accessory port and plug it back on teh cig lighter (there should only be 3 wires on teh back of the cig lighter if I remember correctly from swapping the cig lighter back to the accessory port without an ashtray), and run the plug for the fogs into it's spot.

is yours ex?
the fog lights and ashtray uses the same 6-pin connector that goes to the fuse box.
I have the ashtray set right now, but I need to make sure I can make the oem honda fog light work. Honda says it wont work, but I just wanted to know if anyone went around this.

that is correct, when i got the car i got the fog lights went back a week later to get an ashtray put it and it could not be done because the fog light switch is in the spot where the ashtray goes...i asked honda to move the fog light switch and they said they couldnt because it would void my warranty...whatever...i went to target and got a cup ashtray that lights up it does the job but i still wish i had the honda ashtray for the clean look

don't you have some available switch locations to the left of the stearing wheel? I know on mine I have one or two free and I think they are the same dimention as the ones near the lighter. Isn't it possible to move it to that location? Just extend the wire yourself.

ex doesnt because it uses all three switches on left. While lx dx etc only uses mirrors and cruise.
this is not the answer.
Im ok with the switch location, i just need to know if it uses the same connecter to the fuse box. Havent anyone else been having these problems>?
