where to put a ps2 in a 7thgen?
hey everyone
just wondering, where have you all put your ps2's in your cars?
i dunno where to put it, under the passenger seat may not be a great idea unless i wrap it in something thin so water from peoples slushy shoes doesnt kill my ps2 and a custom enclosure wont fiit in our cars under the passenger seat...
ive heard of putting it in the trunk, but id like to access it from in the car
and i dont wanna do anything like cut the dash open so if anyone has any ideas/pics, kindly let me know

i just took out the glove box and had a custom bux installed there. but it was kinda wack cuz 2 weeks later i forgot to lock my doors and it got jacked. lol they just pulled the damn thing out - but luckily they didn't take anything else!
I got the new small ps2 for my bday a couple weeks back and im pretty sure it will fit inside the glove box. You just gotta attach it to the bottom side of the box then make a false floor on top of it so nothing rests on it. thats the next thing im gunna do

Here's two places I had mine:
First in the glovebox (Required cutting the back out of it, and then glassing in around it to secure it(taped off when glassing of course)).
Second, I glassed a place under the dash on the passenger side. That was a pain to fabricate, but it will fit.
I also considered using the center console, but didn't know how well it'd work with the disc tray sliding out vertically above the unit, afraid it may fall out. If it's a new slim line you can replace the passenger airbag with the ps2. I've seen people detach the disctray and laser portion and mount them seperate from the actual unit itself by extending the cables. That'd be a bitch, but it;s a possibility.
Come to think of it, with the new ps2 (the slimline/flip out one, there are even more possibilities. I might just have to pick one up.

pay the difference and swithc the new smaller PS2, I saw that thing and it was made for putting in cars.
Ohter then that, stick the ps2 under the passenger seat and just put something in the way of the ps2 so that slush wont get on the ps2, ummm something as simple as a sweater or a towel could protect it, you only got a few more months of this slushy canadian crappy weather, in the summer time shouldnt be a problem.
How about the pocket behind passenger seat? slip it in there and have it vertically.
Be kinda cool if you made a slit in the seat somehow and had the ps2 behind your back (or the passengers back)

like i said, i have the old ps2
adam, id love to do that, but like i said, id like to be able to convert the car back to stock with ease
the pocket in the passenger seat is too small and it will look ridiculous unfortunately, already thought of that one! but i appreciate you bringing that idea up
i just got this ps2 recently and dont wanna go buy a next ps2, not yet at least
if anyone has an idea that can work and wont see me making any permanent changes to my ride, im all ears
once again, thanks for everyone's input

Umm yeah, fiberglass a panel to mount it below the dash like I said above. It looks stock, is held in by a few screws, and can easily be removed, then covered back up with the plastic panel that you'd remove to put the ps2 in there. Altering your glove box is also easy to fix, because the actual back of the glove box is removable, so you can take it completely off, as opposed to cutting the back out of it, and mount the ps2 on the door to the glovebox, so that you can still open and close it of course. You could also completely remove the glovebox, and make a panel to replace it from fiberglass (that you can mount with a few screws, or whatever, and mount the ps2 in there. Possibilities are endless.

How about somehow placing it between the two rear seats on the floor. I mean our cars are sweet in how it doesn't have that stupid tranny bump, perhaps you could get couple peices of wood or plexiglass and attach it to the sides of the back of the center consoles? I doubt anyone will be checking for tiny holes back there. Or perhaps you can unbolt the seat and somehow create a platform for the PS2, and attach it to the bolts of your seats for security?
really running out of ideas.
You better be at some valet jobs next year jerk!
the only thing else i oculd think of is keep an eye out for people parting their civics, and buy a cheap passenger door panel (or any panel) and just cut it to fit your ps2.
hey SiG, i was just browsing around and found this...
