Headunit cuts off at high volumes??

My Nak CD-400 cuts off at high volumes. Particularly when there is a lot of mids in the music. My battery has been drained to shlt (its died completely on several occasions to the point where push starts wouldnt work) and I dont know the condition of my alternator. I have a 300W amp powering two basic RF 12" subs in the back. all stock speakers, just a sub setup and a aftermarket HU. Any ideas on why the stereo cuts off? It didnt used to do it before, just recently started happening, and its been gradually getting more sensetive (meaning cutting off at lower volumes now).

I think that you may not have enough power in the battery. When I was installing mine, it would do the same thing, but it was just because the battery had no juice from having the door open for 3 hours (yeah I know I should have disconnected the negative battery cable!). I say you get a new battery and I bet it works.
