Does anyone know how i can keep my factory stereo and hook into an external amp (for woofers) ?? And if so, will sound quality be compromised ?

Thanks

Many amps have "speaker level inputs" where you plug the spliced wires that go to your factory speakers. The sound quality is worse than using RCA w/ a high volt preout, but I don't know to what extent.

you need a high-low converter....sound would not be as good as an aftermarket head unit

It's typically called a Line Level Convertor, shouldn't cost too much, but like said above, check to see if your amplifier accept speaker level inputs, then you'll be set. The sound quality will not be the best, but when you're just running subs, you probably won't notice a huge difference at all.

This is what I used to add a powered Bazooka sub. A Bazooka customer service rep recommended using this since is adjustable. He said it would have better sound quality, and louder, than using the high level inputs that are built-in. Installation was easy.

easiest way is to use the line level convertor...most of them that you buy at bb or cc are adjustable....easier way to install it is to just tap them off the rear speakers since the amp is presumably going to be in the trunk area...
