Okay so what im looking for is a system for about $300 that isnt going to make my car that much heavier and give me alot of bass...any suggestions or should i just get like 1 kicker sb and a like 500 watt amp instead? will that give me good bass??...sry dont know too much about subs n all i just want some bass in my car

For $300 you'll be lucky to one compenent and the wiring to hook it up...you should try second hand

You might could get the sub and amp, but the box and wiring may run you a little over that total. Might want to look into buying a used shiva and jbl amp if you can find one on ebay. Then you might could get everything under 300. I doubt you'd be able to get all new equipment for that price. Building and installing yourself will save you some on labor, but you still have to buy material. I'm sure someone can come up with something, but right now I'm too tired to think about it too intense.

check sounddomain.com and crutchfield.com for some pretty good deals...try a Kicker S10L5 and a JBL CS200.1 on SoundDomain, that should run you less than $300...and you can pick up a nice pre-fab box off of ebay (search for 'big dog car audio') for less than $40 (including shipping)...and your local auto parts store should have decent priced amp kits...i picked up a Lightning Audio 4-gauge kit today at PepBoys for $40 for a friend...anyway, hope this helps...good luck!
