what wiring for speakers to headunit?

im replacing the stock wiring for my new kappa 6x9's and kappa coaxials. do you guys think 12 gauge would be to big to go from the front and rear speakers to the head unit? or should i go with something smaller like 14 gauge or something? my friend ran 12 gauge to all his speakers from the headunit, and it made it sound ALOT better. i was just wondering if 12 gauge was a little to big.

Your major issue is not the gauge of the wire, it's the fact that you will be underpowering both of those speakers by not having an amp. I wouldn't change the factory wiring the way that you have it now. Save some money up and get an amp, then go with 12 gauge.

I call bs .... for 99.9% of things wire is wire. Unless you using gobs of power ..... wiring isn't going to matter .... 16 or 18 guage will all be the same. Go to Walmart, they have it for cheap on a big *** roll ....

For powering from your headunit, you ight as well stick with your stock wiring. If you're planning on amping them, go ahead and run the wire, but it won't make much of a difference, if any.

It just sounds like a big waste of time. Describe to us how it "sounded better." I, too, am going to have to get out the bs meter.
