NEVER heard of em. I am selling an infinity 10 inch sub and box that has very clean bass for $100. Or $60 for just the sub.
Oh and a 12 inch sub will be terrible for techno. It can't move fast enough to reproduce that kind of mid bass.

as for the "dream system" concept...i have a $6K setup, and no matter how much my little eardrums beg me to stop, i'm proud to admit that i'm addicted to bass and there is no end in sight...i'm going to have to change my username to MiracleEar before too long...

Car stereo is like crack, you always want more if you really get into it....but if you just want a little bump then don't bother spending more money than you feel comfortable spending until you get hooked on it like the rest of us have. In the past 8 yrs i've purchased my "dream system" 4 times and every time i'm done my dreams keep getting bigger, now I just have to wait to get my career going to be able to afford what I want to get next. Have fun with whatever you end up getting, if you enjoy it that is all that matters.
That's the best analogy that I have heard yet. The problem I have is that I have the same passion for Cycling as I do audio equipment. 10 systems, and 10 bicycles later, I'm still looking for what to get next!

yeah i dropped a ton of cash just over a year ago on a killer pair of subs and a nice 1000w amp, I was like man this gear is gonna last me forever. One year later, I have replaced everything I bought then including most of the wiring, I've replaced my head unit 3 times, woofers once, amp once, processor twice, and pretty much everything else once not to mention what I've added and not replaced. The funny part is I am nowhere near my dream system, it's just all for fun for now

If you like it, then it was worth it to you. Realistically, that's all that counts. Most of us, however, are audiophiles and could notice the difference.

You're going to be paying a few hundred dollars for the amp and wires and stuff, so why not spend $50 extra and get a good sub.
One good sub is better than 2 crappy subs.
Also, Circuit City has better products than Best Buy.

I'd be inclined to say go with no bigger than a 10 here for techno. An 8 would be more fitting, but it won't go as low, generally speaking. The components are a good idea, but unamped, you're wasting money.
