remote start question
yes. not too many places will do it though. i have one on my car. i have to hit a button on the remote, take the key out, car stays running, shut the door, hit another button on the remote, it activates the alarm and turns the car off. by doing this, it ensures the car is in nuetral and will be able to remote start.
yeah there are, ive seen an install where all you do is remove the key shut the door, and the car shuts itself down and engages factory alarm too (was a VW passat)

they have kits now strictly for manual..
i just throw on the e-brake, and shut off key..
so long as i don't touch the brake or clutch pedal it shuts down when i close the door..
activate alarm right after exiting..
alarm can go off and it'll still start "UNLESS" the interior alarm goes off..that signifies that someone could have dropped it into gear

compustars autostart units work with MTs. Personaly I would never leave my car in neutral with just the emergency brake holding the car. all someone has to do is go under cut the cable and push your car down the street.

I live in AZ where we don't have hills. I have it on mine. The car always has to have the e-brake up to start. However it doen's care if the car is in gear or not. You can have it start up 2 different ways 1) RPM sensing wire or 2) Have it crank for a certain period of time. I have option 1) which is dangerous if the car is in gear as it will continue to crank until my yellow top dies. You eventually learn to leave it in neutral.
