Things that annoy you in the I.C.E world . . .
How about people who are disappointed in how their system sounds, so they actually start replacing amps, speakers, head units, etc before they even try tuning what they have. I used to know this dude that had PG amps, Quart comps and Quart subs. A nice Alpine HU which he never even looked at any of the settings and kept his "loud" button on all the time despite me telling him to shut it off constantly. He started by swapping the PGs for V12s, then he swapped the quarts for something like kenwood coaxials. I asked him what his xover points were, he just shrugged.

yeah, here's another one for the "people that try to do their own stuff but jack it up then want you to fix it"...my friend brings me her Pontiac POS and a Power Acoustik amp/sub combo from another car to install...her friend has already run the power cable (through the door jamb, and with no inline fuse) and the RCAs (eletrical taped to the power cable from the driver's floorboard back), and he generously went ahead and installed the subs in the box (they're the FUBR series; 4-ohm DVC each)...problem was, they're DVC, and when i removed them to make sure they were wired right, only 1 voice coil on each was hooked up...and they're 1800-watt RMS subs (supposedly), and they're getting a little over 200 watts each, so of course, they're showstoppers...and the "friend" that installed them had the gain and bass boost all the way up, with the high pass filter on...thanks for all the "help", a$$...

I was SOOO bad at buying stuff and selling it for new stuff before I even tuned it. I had 3 JL10W6's, which I sold for 2 PPI PRO 12's, which I sold for my current Diamond TDX 10's. I had a PAR-245 and an FRX-322 which I sold for the DEQ-230 thats going in the car. I had Art series amps that I got rid of for PCX series amps, which I sold for my JL amps. I had a CVA-1000 which I sold for an IVA-C800 which I sold for my IVA-D900. I AM FINALLY DONE!! The car is getting tuned and NEVER changing again. I took me way too long to learn that lesson.
I hate when everyone brags that you should install your stuff yourself, and complains when you can't do it right, AND THEN asks you for help with something that you happen to be good at. For example: I worked at a best buy, purchased a system. Installed the sub and HU myself, and had them install the remote starter ( I AM NOT MESSING WITH THAT) and the speakers front and back (here is me being lazy/under qualified). So I get the usual crap from the install techs who I am mostly cool with. Well they keep on me about having them install stuff for me, few months later, all of sudden, out of the blue, from no where I have 10 employees or so (many of the same making fun of me ) asking me about the stock purchase plan and 401 k (I was a finance major and they weren't (in school)) and what they should do. Being the nice guy, I don't tell them to go F themselves, I look at it even though I have no interest because I am just a PT weekend warrior, and so I try to help them. The moral of this story, not everyone is good at installing audio, so help, teach (they wouldnt let me near it for legal reason which I accept), and maybe you can use them when the time comes around...

Just kidding Mega, I do most of my own stuff. Time is precious in my world though and could end up costing me more in an hour than just paying someone to put in rear speaker in a civic.

Other than my deck rattling, of course, but I just shove a Rand McNally in there and it's fine. I really don't want to take my seats out to fix the deck rattle. Yet.
i always hate to hear a buddy or someone i know getting ripped off for their ICE and/or installation of it.
people who play their music loud with annoying music (mexican music, asian r&b, boot-leg gangsta rap, etc). can even hear the distortion 2 blocks down..

I hate all that low quality free style crap my friends always play in the car. Jesus sounds like someone recorded it on cell phone memo feature, and held it up to a mic on the computer and ecoded to mp3.

i hate it when people use stolen gear that somebody worked their fingers to the bone for and then had taken away from them by some ******* looking for some money for a drug fix.

Mega, you just hit the button on the head. That's the worst thing, even moreso than somebody bumping a Sparkomatic Woofer with a Realistic Deck and Pyramid Amp. At least they paid for the ****!
People that steal or accept stolen property are the worst forms of life.
I also hate that there is like a 60% markup if you go to shops to buy goodies. Every other retail outfit gets by on like a 30% markup, why can't Tweeter?

Baku - interesting way to work around the limitations of having to keep the front stocks in your system
Dan - no kidding. It's always the accessories - from power harnesses, to install kits, and cabling that ends up costing much more than it should. As much as any business gets their profit from markup, I think they make much more from the accessories than they do from the equipment itself.
My peeve with ICE is anyone driving with a shitty system that tries to blast it - distorted sound is awful especially at high volume levels. I've always had the opinion that if you are going to turn it up, you better have the power and quality behind the sound to do it.

I think that some people are actually just deaf to the terrible noises their cars make. I am borderline ****-retentive when it comes to in-car noises. If I hear a quarter slide across the bottom of the console tray when I'm cornering, I grab it and put it in my pocket so it won't make any more noise.
Then you have my friend with the dashboard hula dancer that, while she's driving, bounces up and down on her little spring and makes this tap tap tap tap tap tap tap noise. I told her I was going to rip it off and eat it and she said, "I don't even notice the sound anymore."
Doesn't notice the sound anymore?!?!? People.
I also hate this line from a salesman:
"These are probably the best ones (speakers), these are what I have in MY CAR."
Oh, so considering you and I have identical tastes and preferences, I should buy THOSE speakers.
