Power cable routing and fuseblock questions
Power cable routing and fuseblock questions
1) Best path to route a 4ga cable from the battery to the trunk?
2) My cell phone hands-free kit needs a +12V constant connection, as well as a +12V ignition-switched connection. Are there any points in the fuse panel in the driver-side footwell that I can plug into to get either of these? I'm not a big fan of splicing into existing cables. I've got the Civic manual, but can't seem to find what some of the connection points on the panel are, and it's a bit hard to get my voltmeter probes back there.
Thanks!

Push the 4 awg thru on the passenger side under the dash where the cluster of wires comes thru. It can be a pain in the *** but it can be done.
You can tap into any existing wires for your cellphone kit... the cig lighter is probably the easiest for switched, and for constant... maybe the power mirror wire? Those are easy access

Was looking more for routing paths through the vehicle...along the roofline, through the floor side moulding, through the center of the vehicle...that kind of thing.
Also, with tapping into existing wires, I really really dislike wire taps and splicing. Personal preference...doesn't look very clean to me

all through the passenger side door sills, under the back seat, into the trunk
as for the phone, just get a run of 10 gauge from the battery
or you can run some 8 gauge to a tiny distro block hidden somewhere in the dash and run all your current and future aftermarket accessories

So, are there no such points to plug into on the fuse panel? There are quite a few unused connectors on there...
Someone with the electronics-specific manual out there who can look it up?
