Does anyone have the MTA 3002 amp? (did I get screwed by CC?)

I just found out it's supposed to come with a remote bass control **** that you can mount up front by your controls. When CC installed mine they said it was $40 extra, so I said "no thanks." But the owners manual says it should be included. I just called MTX and he said it definately comes with the amp in the box and that CC was trying to make $40 off of me.

So, naturally I just called CC to talk to a manager, and naturally "our road shop manager won't be in until tomorrow." He told me he talked to an installer and said "sometimes there's cable or whatever you have to pay for which is $40." I was like "No. The MTX guy I just talked to on the phone said it definately comes with the amp. If you guys don't install it I should at least have been given it since it comes in the box of the amp I just bought." The guy was like "you'll have to call back tomorrow and talk to the roadshop manager."

So in the meantime, does anyone have this amp? And did it come with a remote bass control ****?

Any recommendations? If I was in fact screwed over I'd like to tarnish their reputation and/or get as much free stuff out of the deal as I can. Is there anything I can/should do?

i work at cc...and i believe it does come w/the bass controller.

simply do this, next time you call see if the roadshop manager is there, if not ask to speak to the store manager and resolve it that way. the best thing to do is to go back to the cc you got it installed and get things resolved that way. try not to get things done over the phone, because almost always nothing gets resolved. tell them that you talked to mtx and checked your manual and it is suppose to come with the bass controller. demand they give you one even if they have to take it out of a new box.

hope that helps

The bass ***** are no-brainers to install and do come with cables usualy. Its a matter of drilling a hole someplace to mount it and running a cable to the amp. its an extra 5 minutes or so to install it (that is if you do it when you put in the amp and radio.). It would probably take them 1/2 hour to install now that they have to pull appart the panels to run the wire from up front to the amp.

So I got it installed at a CC by my parents house, but I don't live over there. Do you think they'd let me pick one up at a CC near here?

Do you just plug it in and then run the wire up to the front? I can do that myself, right? I assume the wire is really long, right?

Before they try to BS me more at the store, the amp comes with the wire to connect to the bass ****, correct? Like there's nothing else I have to buy, right?

Hmm, so if I have that bass control then maybe I don't need to get a head unit with seperate sub volume because I'd already have it, right?

Mine didn't come with one. Had to buy it separately. The headunit bass volume controls sound level for the whole sub (all frequencies), whereas the bass adjust **** on the amp is centered around a certain single frequency. At least this is the case for my mtx.

I just talked to the Circuit City where I got it installed and they arranged for me to pick up a remote bass control at the Circuit City by me. The guy I talked to at the store where I got it installed was really nice; probably cuz he knows his employees tried to screw me over and he didn't want me to make a stink.

So, w00t. Go me. Um, how should I mount it? Like how do I get the wire from the amp up to the front of the car without it being in the way of stuff?
