infinity 1230's

people who know car audio...what do you say about these? iv heard good and bad about infinity subwoofers.

infinity rate them at 300 rms a piece. how true is that? some companys *cough sony* exagerate their power ratings...how are infinity for that?

I have infinity speakers, tweeters and a 10 inch sub all around. Very nice quality for the price imo. I've heard good things about the 12 as well. If you like lots of different music, the 10 would be better. I'm running mine at about 1/2 power (max is 250rms) and it still pounds very clean and loud.

i think its garbage, but you wouldnt spend what id spend on woofers...

my goal isnt to win any competitions, its to have decent sound, and when i crank it loud, it pounds

infinity 1230's are lowest of the line. its sounds ok its better then all those crappy brand.

but buy the 10" perfect kappa vq. i have 10" vq...and damnnnnnnn clean as hell!!! dont care of any one says. buts my sub can go side byside w/ w7

actually the 1030 is the lowest, and the 1220 is the lowest of the 12"

only reason is because im getting a great deal offered for them. i listend to them in a store today...they sounded pretty nice actually.

to the untrained ear, sure i'll give the sub the fact that its good, you may even think it sounds as good as a w7. but to the trained ear, the vq gets left in the dust NASTY style. so to him, it sounds just as good, but to me it doesnt, and i envy him, because he doesnt have to spend a gazillion dollars to satisfy his ears, whereas ive got to put way every penny i earn towards this hobby.

I had 3 infinity perfect 10.1d's (dual voice coil) running off a jbl 1200.1 and it shook my car! Yet still had great sq. You don't have to buy the vq's the regular perfects are great!
