do I need to look at a 2 channel? What Specs to look out for?
I was told I need something at 2x300RMS
Not to pricy either. Tring to stay under I guess $400 if that's possible.

I'd go for a mono around 300rms. A 2 channel would mean series wiring the woofers or bridging the amp. JL NEVER wants you to series wire their dual voice coils. And if you've got dual 4s, you'd be fine bridging a quality amp. If you've got 2ohm coils, better forget a 2 channel amp, even if you series/parelell the VC, the amp will see 2ohms and bridged will make it 1 <== big money for a 1ohm stable amp and it isn't even practicle. If you've got 4ohm coils, series/parelell will make it 4ohm, mono will see 4. NICE.

If your powering 2= get a 500/1
This will give you the best set-up. I am running 1 12w3 and a 250/1 if plenty power- its what JL recommends to run with 1. 2 they recommend a 500/1 though.
