Q-Forms take away foot rest
Q-Forms take away foot rest
Just had q-forms installed and I'm kind of upset it takes away the foot rest. I have an auto so I don't have to worry about it getting in the way of the clutch but I do miss my foot rest. Where should I put my left foot? Is getting a smaller brake pedal and putting my foot between the kicks and the brake pedal a good idea? It's not that big of a deal - it's just a bit annoying - my parents want to take the kicks out since they say my left leg will get tired while driving from being in a weird position. Any suggestions???

i lived with it for a while, then i got rid of them for that very reason. my commutes to work and school got longer and my left foot got tired.
the smaller brake pedal idea is something i never thought of, sounds like it might work well.
really, you gotta live with it, or get rid of them (might want to try living with them first, i couldnt do it, but i sure do miss the sound

) ^Hmmmm - yeah - I was thinking that on long drives I may want to just chuck them. I think I'll give em a try for a week or so and see how I like them. If not I guess I'll sell them since I really can't return them once they've been cut into and such. I also put 5.25's in there - I may have to sell those too in order to get a 6.5 set for the door - or maybe if I feel like getting rid of my kicks my installer will cut me a break and let me return the 5.25 and replace them with 6.5's for just a little $$$ more. I guess I just have to live with it or get rid of them - this sucks
I've always used it so it's a pretty big deal for me. I think that I would rather have driving comfort instead of the sound from the kicks. I'm leaning towards getting rid of them and just putting the speakers in the door. I'm trying to get used to driving without the dead pedal but it's just uncomfortable and my leg cramps up after about 30 minutes. I have 5.25's in the kicks - if I get rid of the kicks will they fit in the door or will I have to work something out with my shop to swap for the 6.5's? I hate loosing money but I'm gonna have this car for another 5-7 years or so and driving without the foot rest on long drives isn't too attractive.

You can probably use or make adapters to make the 5.25" woofer fit
Let me know if you want to sell the kicks if they are in black and can fit a 6.5" woofer

Damn - the kicks are tan - I guess you could always paint them. You would probably have to modify them a bit to get a 6.5" woofer in them since they're cut for a 5.25 right now. If you wanted to buy them despite the fact that they're tan - how much would you offer. I paid $150 for them - they're brand new and I don't want to take that much of a loss on them.
I drove around tonight and it didn't really bother me much so I'm now leaning more towards keeping them. They sound great and if I just get shorter brake pedal I have a small little foot rest in between the kicks and brake pedal. As of now I'm keeping them - If I do decide to get rid of them I'll PM you and we'll work something out - thanks!
