High Performance Ground Kit

I just bought a ground kit for my car and im wondering exactly how to install it. Do i have to rip out the exiteing ground wires or just install this on top of the existing wires, also do i need to hook to factory ground spot in the motor, intake manafold, alternator or will and metal spot with a surface bold do?
