Unhappy Please Help

I just got a new amp and components and I’m having a bitch of a time hooking them up. So initially I hooked the amp and speakers up and they sounded all crackly, especially when you turned the volume up. I thought I might be getting feedback, ground loop style, from my subwoofer amp. I disconnected the sub amp, which was working fine, and used all of the wiring (power, remote, ground, RCA, etc) to hook the other amp up. Still the same cracking noises. I also tried to bypass the crossovers and go directly to the speaker terminals but still crappy noise. Can someone please give me some more ideas to try before I go NUTS.

are these new speakers?
do you have them running through an amp?
do you have a new head unit?

Yes, new earthquake 6.5" components
Yes, This is the problem (as far as I can tell). The amp is producing a crackly/staticy noise overlayed onto the music.
Nope same head unit I have been using for a couple of years.

Make sure there are no screws pinching the speaker wires...also, maybe try wiring the speakers directly to the amp and crossover without tucking the wiring behind any panels...then try playing the new speakers off of a home radio inside of your house and see how they sound...if that doesn't work, try playing old speakers that you know work good on your amp and see how they sound...just some ideas to test.

Check your gain on your amp...could be pushing too much power to the speakers, thus distorting them!! What kind of amp did you put on the highs??
