I was searching on crutchfield at some equipment and came across the Alipine Type E 12" subs being offered for $150 - for two of them! Is that a good deal. Or two 10" for $130. At circuit city they're charging $130 for one 12". I'm going to go hear them today at circuit city - hope they sound good b/c it seems like a great deal! What do you guys think?

Just came back from Circuit City and Best Buy. I made my rounds listening to just about every sub in the store. At Best Buy I focused on the Rockford's and found they were kinda muddy and not accurate - the P3's were good but not in my budget. I then moved to Circuit City where I received much better help from a sales rep - turns out they were selling the Type E's for $82 each (12") - just about the same price as crutchfield so I'm getting them at Circuit City. It looks like two 12" Type E's - or maybe just one 12" if I want to save some $$$ and trunk space. They also had a lot of open box infinity stuff and was going to discount them. He was also giving me a good deal on installation - he was giving me free HU install - 50% of 4 speaker install ($40?) - and I believe sub and amp install for $60. So all in all I found my trip to Circuit City very successful!

that's awesome man, circuit deffinately hooked you up..i got my components from there..im still waiting to find a good price on a 4-channel amp..i am going tomorrow to pick up my backordered 6x9's and ill have to take a look at the amps..good luck with the system

that is actually a rip off, go to etronics and/or ikesound.com and you can find much cheaper prices, you can get typr r's for $110 at ikesound and i have found type s's for less than what you are paying for type e's. In which i have had the type s and they are not really worth buying. It would sound better to buy one typr r or an infiniti kappa perfect or for $135 you can get a great sounding sub that will outperform the last 2 by alot, it is the elemental designs k series and all the subs i mention perfrom great in boxes from .7-1.2 cubed foot boxes for a single 12
