6.5 and tweeter fitment
How easy is it to install 6.5's and tweeters in a 7g civic? I've heard of problems for both, but how bad actually are they?
There will be a huge sale this weekend and I might hook myself up with a set of components, but actually how tight are the doors?
Also, how easy is it to get aftermarket tweeters installed? Are the grilles easily removable? I would like them to be so I can take them off for SQ but put them on from time to time
Can an experienced installed please shed some light on the situation?
I need some answers by Friday night, as I am leaving on Saturday morning, thanks all!

The 6.5's are an issue because you have two issues to worry about: Basket diameter and total depth. The factory cutout isn't aftermarket speaker friendly, and you will probably need some custom baffles to make it work right. The tweets are easy - assuming you the factory sail panels, they should snap right in.

cut the trim ring off the inside of the door panel ( i just ripped it off with pliers, was easy enough) it gives you a little more room. i don't think the woofer hitting the door panel while playing will be a likely problem

Door panel doesn't need to come off to take the sail panels out?
What style clips do they use? The white ones used on the trim panels or the metal ones used on the radio bezel and console?

Whoa whoa whoa!!!! Stop before you start anything!
I've got a set of Kicker copontents installed and I did the following.
1. Take the door panel off (do't take the speaker baskets out)
2. Remove factory speakers.
3. remove facotry tweeter.
4. Make sure all of your wiring is correct and then mark mounting locations on the metal of the door.
5. Drill holes for screws.
6. Install speaker and screw to door (place some kind of protection behind the speaker to prevent it from getting wet, I used a shower curtain)
7. I had to shave the shave the plastic surround of the component to get it to fit in the factory location, but 20 mins on the girinding wheel later it fit like a glove.
8. Re-install the door panel and a way you go!
