Sub Suggestion, replace Shiva
Well, I decided that as much as I love the sound of the Shiva now, I need a little more trunk space. I plan on fiberglassing something into the side of hte trunk, but at 1.8 cubes, It might too big to look a little stealth.
I'm looking for something that will sound as low as the Shiva in less airspace, around 1 cube if possible. I don't want to spend too much, around $100 at most. And, I'm only using about 200 watts rms at 4 ohms.
It isn't a big deal to me what size speaker it is, but 12" at most.
Thanks for any suggestions!!!

The sub that's coming to mind for me right now is an Image Dynamics IDQ10D4v2. It works well in small airspace, and doesn't require that much amplification. Not sure if you can find one for that dollar amount without going through ebay though. Another option is the ID10v2 Dual 4 sub. I'm positive you can get it for under $100, and it works as well in small airspace, plus it would work great on 200 watts, being as its rated 175 and 300 max. Those would be my option if you're looking to step down enclosure size. JL work well in small enclosure, but I doubt you'd find much more than the entry level W0 for that amount (unless you find a steal on something such as a W3v2 or W6v2 on ebay, but the downside is they don't authorize online sales, so whatever you got, you'd be stuck with and they wouldn't have to honor the warranty). I haven't really looked into small enclosure subs that much, and haven't worked with a lot of other product, so I'm kind of hard pressed looking. Hopefully someone else with more experiance in those areas might be able to give you a little more insight. Good luck, and keep us updated on what you find, and decide.

When i saw the subject I thought to myself, "i hope his reasons are space issues, because that is theonly reason he should give up the shiva"...and so they are...
I think the ID is a good choice...or maybe a W3 v.2 or an Infinity Perfect 12"....the Infinty can play pretty low compared to most in a sealed box.

Where does one buy an Eclipse? I could try my localdealer.. but it sounds like it would be expensive, i saw that i think the 10 or 12 was 170 MSRP.
I'm bidding on an IDQ 12 online right now for about 76, plus shipping, what do you think?

Hmm. the refurbished ID10 V3 is $80 with a 3 month warranty, the new is $100 with a 2 year warranty. The ID12 is $90 refurbushed, $135 new. Is the $20/45 worth saving? Will the 12 sound noticably lower?
