Water in the front doors?
Water in the front doors?
I opened up my door yesterday (2004 Civic EX Sedan) to see if my MDF spacer would fit, and discovered that there was water in behind my speaker. It had been raining (hard) earlier, and I had rolled down the window so I could see if the spacer was thick enough, so I assume that the water had slid down when I rolled the window down. Still, this bothers me!
Any thoughts about this, specifically how to avoid getting water on electrical components? I'm about to install some new speakers, and I really don't want them, or the crossover, to get wet! I bought some 2" wide "plastic tape" and I may just try taping all the metal parts in there...

if you don't want a wet crossover, don't put it in the door. make sure the wires are properly connected and the speakers should be alright or use baffles to provide some more protection. wet doors are gonna happen unfortunately....
