I'm not sure if this is an electrical issue or not...
My recently acquired DX sedan is automatic; incidentally, also my first auto tranny car in 19 years.
It has that stupid brake pedal interlock feature, you know, step on the brake before you can pull the lever out of PARK. There is no describing how much this "safety" item pisses me off. How can I disable/bypass it?
Thanks

I'm not sure what qualifies for you as a good reason, but I 've NEVER EVER left my son in the car with the engine running. That, as I understand was a prime reason for that kind of safety measure.
Also, I don't see the need to put on the brakes to drive away... never have to do that in my 5 Liter 'Stang. Just dump the clutch and hang on.
Almost as ridiculous as clicking the START button to shut off your computer?!

Its there for a reason. Safety. Every automatic car has that. Live with it. Are you one those also that will be shifting his auto from D2-D3.

basically, just take the entire section out around the shifter, the whole plastic console. then look on the left side of the shifter area and tp your brakes, youll see a small actuator move back and forth. what you want to do is disable it from its existance. either take it out, jam it on open, wire up some new relays, etc...
