ive heard these are one of the best subs out there... i always wanted JL but thier ridicoulsy expensive.. My friend is selling his JL w6's for $100 a piece..they are 12" ..is that good price for those??? i think i mite get em...wut do u guys think about em..its eiter taht or audiobahn...?!?!

are they the W6v2 or just plain W6? the new W6v2 is a very nice sub, i've heard one and was impressed, its not an SPL sub at all, but it sounds clean. the old W6 is like the W3v2 to me, but its still a nice sub. if they are in good condition, i'd get them.
also, i think the old W6 was a 6 ohm woofer or something, they were meant to be installed as 3's or something.
hopefully whiterabbit or ludlam can swing by and clear it all up.

w6 is a GREAT sub, only comes in dual 6 ohm voice coils, so working them in 3's is always easiest.

the W6 are very nice, but the Newer W6v2 are A LOT better.

to compare, the W3 --> W3v2; the W3v2 just got a little better. maybe a bit cleaner, a bit louder, but not by much.

the W6 --> W6v2, the W6v2's SQ is much much better. Maybe 5-10x better. The SPL output is also much more powerful and has more potential. It's because it has some of the W7 characteristics with similar designs and patented stuff that the W7 has.

opps... i went on and on about the W6v2 and didn't say much about the older W6's.

I would say, If you had a choice between the older model W6 and W3's, Go with the W3's and save some money. The difference is not worth the difference in price. I would NOT spend 100 dollars on a W6 especailly if they are used.

For $100, get some Alpine Type-R's for about 10 dollars more, brand new.

ive got w6v1's in my car right now, $100 each is a steal

fantastic woofers. I reccommend them. ill be taking mine to SQ this season

and im expecting to be in the top 3 at every show
