dynamat question?
does anyone know if there is enough in a bulk kit of dynamat extreme to do 2 layers if i do from behind the front doors back, minus the roof? also that dynamat roof liner
( its like a 1/2 inch thick 2' x 3' mat) won't that be impossible to use on my car with a sun roof?
should i just do dynamat extreme? and would anyone recommend doing 2 layers on the roof?

It takes about 150 Sq. ft. to do two layers over the whole car...the dynamat extreme kit comes with 36 Sq. ft. You are probably looking at 75 Sq. ft. to do from the b pillar back.
Try www.fatmat.com it works just about as well, and it's much less expensive.

how much of a difference will 2 layers do than 1?
is fatmat as good or better than dynamat?
and how hard is it to do for a first timer? the shop i went to said there is an art to it... im assuming they just want to rape me for the cost of labor and the dynamat. they want $250 for the bulk kit.
onlinecarstereo.com has it for $170 or something for a dynamat bulk kit. i've heard they have an imitation dynamat... has anyone bought dynamat or anyting from this place and have any problems?

FatMat is as good as dynamat. And it's $99 for 100 sq. ft versus $250 for 36 sq. ft.
It's not hard to install...you peel off the backing, put it on the metal, and roll/cut out any air bubbles.
Go to www.fatmat.com and read up on it!

100 sq. ft of fatmat is only 34 lbs. I have 3 layers in my car...you dont even feel the weigh, it's the subs and amps and wires that weigh you down. Not like it matters....it's a slow civic no matter how much it weighs.

And two layers of fatmat is just as good as dynamat most have said and i'd agree from personal use of the two. I don't think dynamat is as hig priced as $250 for 35 sq feet, i think it's more like $150 for the 36 sq, i could be wrong though, but even if, fatmat is $99 for 100 sq, two layers being as good as dynamat means you pay $99 plus ship for 50 square compared to paying $50 more or so for 36 sq. Ok this is confusing so it must end.

check out b-quiet.com for more stuff. I like dynamat best because there is no smell and it sticks forever. It is heavy, though. I did one layer all around the car (everything) and noticed a difference. I bet I've got around 100lbs of extra weight in dynamat and audio stuff. It's like having another person in your car all the time.
