which 12 to get?
which 12 to get?
ok i definately want 1 12, but i need help deciding.
i want it to be loud, deep, clear. put it this way, i love rap music alot.
i have done a little research and im deciding between
- jl w6
- jl w6v2
-jl w3v2
-alpine type r
i wanna spend 200-300 on the sub. and i will most likely buy it brand new from ebay.
so someone help me out on the differences between these, or people who already have these, tell me what u think of them?
i would also appreciate any other subs u think are compareable to these...
thank you

The w6v2 if at all like it's predecessor has dual 6-ohm coils. These subs work best in groups of 3, as you are able to get a 1 or 4 ohm load in that situation, otherwise you are stuck with 3 or 12.
Go with the w3v2.
Go with the w3v2.
for rap music, i would definitely go the type R route or w6v2. both have het ability to play those warm low tones, the w3v2 is more of a rock driver with quicker transients and brighter response
the w6v1 may be the best for you of all, its warm yet can be quick for fast beats, kind of the best of both worlds.
nowadays they are cheap, and they can handle a crapload of power, yet are efficient enough to get reasonably loud off low power.
however, like said before, they only come in a dual 6 ohm version, so whatever amplifeir you get to power it will have ot be 2 ohm stable, and ideally rated for at least 3-400 rms at 4 ohms, much less two.
and whatever its rated at for 2 ohms, you lose power since it runs at 3 ohms.
but sound quality wise, it may be the best of everything for you. Lud and I have discussions with a guy running a trio of the 10's in his civic with 400 rms TOTAL hitting in the 140's!
