i say you take a 15" diamond audio TDX, throw that into a ported box (i think 2 cubic feet is recommended) and run a d5 1200.1 on it, that would be loud and probably still sound good, but i'm biased towards diamond audio products

do you care about sound quality? or do you just want a big block rocker that can sound a little muddy?
there are lots of single subs that can blow you away, doing it with awesome clarity can limit your choices.

IDMAX 12, or JL 13W6v2 or JL 12W6v2. the W6v2 series is basically the same sub as the W7 series. they share the almost every single construction feature, and perform very very similarly. Yet the W6v2 saves you a decent chunk of change. Basically, what I'm saying is that the W6v2 series is a budget version of the W7 series. then, which ever of those you go with feed them somewhere around 500-1000 watts, depending on which you choose. those three woofers I listed give you both good sq and pretty good spl. If you're wanting to block rock, I'd reccommend something else though. whatever you do, make sure you get a good amp, thats the main factor in the setup, feeding the woofer good clean crisp power.

itll sound incredibly accurate, but itll rattle your teeth loose

i don't think that 18 would be what i'd consider a "daily driver" sub lol
but i bet that **** would knock some phlegm loose
a XXX is what i was thinking of when i asked if you cared about quality. DD audio, orion HCCA, soundstream, MTX RFL, power HX2, there are a about 10-20 great choices for SPL (loud) subs. but for a tight sounding SPL, IDMAX, JL W7 are the best 2 single sub choices.
