JL12W3v2's
I was wondering if anybody has these subs and could tell me what kind of amp can power these and how much they will cost.the info i need is a price for the subs, what the best amp to power them is.I don't like hanging out at car shops because they tend to try to sell you everything they can.
as for the cost i cant really help you. but they shouldnt be that much cause those are an old model if it's the same w3's that i have. they have a w6 now. w3's are nice i have 2 12's and i run a ppi 800 watt amp with 400 of it going to the subs. 400 rms should be plenty to power 2 of them. the more watts the better you can never have too much watts but u can have too little. hope this helped. i got my 2 w3's and the amp from a friend for 400 and that was cheep.
W3v2's and W3's are different. The W3 is discontinued except in 15" and 18" models. The W3v2 is around $175 on ebay, $225 MSRP. 250-300 watts is great for them, any more and the voice coils tend to cook (i've been through 2 sets of W3's and 2 sets of W3v2's)
I think they sound best sealed in 1.2 cubes each.
Whats your budget for an amp?

i say hang around there. themore the better. that's how i got to know my hookup for over 5 years. just went in one day and stopped by over the past 5 years. now i get my audio stuff for ebay prices with shop warranty and no worry about shipping.
