the door. look at the hole thast in teh door right now, its tiny! gotta widen it up and add a spacer anyways.

best way to widen it (i cant take credit for this, anther anonymous member here came up with it) is to cut radial lines outward, like rays form a sun, you can do this with an air body saw, a dremel, sawzall, anything.

then bend back the tabs with a hammer. works like a champ!

that's one of the easiest ways yet i've heard to widening the holes in our doors. i paid an installer $60 to cut away the metal to fit my front speakers, it was well worth it to me though, it took him 2 and a half hours for installing the woofers of my 6.5's but he still only charged me $60. Maybe he took into account that i had already run the wires to the woofer and the tweeters were already in place and set up, i just didn't have a dremel or anything to cut that hole. Someone on here told me i could cut the hole out wth aviation snips or cutters or something like that, i'd have to get a memebership to the gym for a yr to build the strength to snip away that metal.

not to mention its just plain awkward to get tin snips in there!

air body saw is the best way IMO with a sawzall if anyone here wants to actually remove the metal
