audiobahn. nice loose bass type.
but when i went to HIN, this guy had 2 kicker 18" in his white civic 2 door. **** was vibrating me when i was standing next to it. =O
<---- planning to stick with audiobahn because i have a full audiobahn set-up (1 12' w/enclosure, amp, cap) which is very good because nothing has gone wrong with them and their affordable. *ebay*

the best sound quality sub ive ever heard was a soundstream SS 10", i THINK it was an SS, maybe it was an exact, its been a few years
. I never owned it cause i was never into 10's but damn did it sound good. It was prolly the most acurate, crisp clean and smoooooooth sounding sub ever. Was just amazing to listen to.

presonally i have ran a lot of subs, and heard more brands than that. i like SQ more than i do SPL, i don't care to block rock, so spl ability isn't as big a concern to me.
my favorites:
JL Audio W7 series (10W7). has great SQ response, lacks some in the SPL area, but I am willing to sacrifice that for the accurate replay of the frequencies.
JL Audio W6v2 series. almost an equal to the W7 series, imo its the budget minded alternative to their W7 series, being as it shares a lot of the same construction features, along with performance features of the W7's.
Resonant Engineering- produce good results at a somewhat lower budget.
Image Dynamics- IDMAX series performs close to that of the JL's. Good freq response. their other lines also offer a more budget friendly alternative.
Elemental Designs- budget alternatives with good response.
Treo Engineering- also offer an alternative to some of the higher priced woofers, with good performance.
Adire Audio- possibly the best performing budget woofers I've ever heard, some of their models lack power handling capabilities, but overall, they offer a good product.
whoops, almost forgot one: Diamond Audio- good woofers with good freq response.

I'd say kicker due to the fact that my boy had 1 L7 (Im planning on 2) in his Lincoln Navigator and it sounded gorgeous!
I still like 2 MTX tens that I have now because they still sound tight after all I put them through. I was even thinking about getting another one. Don't know the name but it's comparable to the JL W7. Even JL said that it blowed their W7 out of the water...hmmm.

my buddy had a truck with two "beasts" now the 9900 series...won DB Drag finals in 2000 with them, 4th in 2001, then custom built some subs and was the loudest on the lane all day, but the right lane .7 higher than the left.....to bad we lost 3 amps in qualifiying.......
as far as woofers go....i havent heard one that sounded "bad" if given the correct amount of power and in the right box...

the MTX-9500 is marketed as a competitor to the JL W7, and MTX claims that it is superior to the JL. and the way they market it, it appears to be superior. JL in no way ever said it was superior to the W7, this is MTX's claim. here is a link toMTX's ad where they state this: http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/headtohead/w7.cfm
also, they are comparing the 10's in the comparison. the 12 and 15 JL dominate the MTX. in terms of SQ, the JL will also destroy the MTX, in any size. depends on what you are looking for. sure, the MTX is a tad cheaper, but look at the specs on all of them, not just the 10.
