that price range...MTX?? i dunno...power acoustics (spelling?) visonik is a fairly new brand, i've owned one before, till i redid my setup, they are good for your buck. Sony explod? >_< or lightning audio? Check out circuit city, they have cheap ones, then remember those models and search on ebay, u'll get em at least 100$ cheaper. ^_^ good luck

This is a MTX model from last year, but it is such a good deal for a good 4-channel amp:
MTX Audio Thunder6304
BTW, the amp's specs are Very underrated...very good bang for the buck if you are looking for a good inexpensive amp. Also, read the reviews on sounddomain for the pros and cons to this amp.

I would also look into other amps that they sell at Sounddomain, and just keep in mind that they will price match...you just have to send them in the request.

I can tell you what i think, but it is up to you. I had the lower end version of that amp and I loved it...the 4244, i believe...it is in my wifes car and she loves the sound she is getting since i replaced the kenwood amp that she used to have. IMO, the deal can't be beat...but a couple things to keep in mind:
-Do you mind having a model year 2002 amp (IMO that year's model looks better then the current models)?
-Do you really want a 4-channel amp? I personally would go for a two channel amp to power the front and leave the rears of the headunit...but this amp is such a good deal that i would maybe go for it and leave the gain on the rear speakers low.
-The amp is a good amp from a reputable brand...but if you are looking for top of the line, this amp is not it...but i don't see you getting a TOL amp with less the $250. I personally would not mind giving this amp a spin.
-I would do some research on the amp before you buy it...read reviews...ask people on here who have the amp (or had it)...make sure all of the specs fit your needs.
-The amp Will put out more power then the specs list...keep that in mind so you don't get to powerful of an amp.

I have an older Power Acoustik 4 channel amp (don't know model - I think it is rated at 50W RMS per channel) that is now in it's 3rd vehicle - originally installed in 1996 - and I'm quite happy with it. It's probably not as high quality of a component, but as far as bang for the buck I can't complain.
