Question something isnt right

one of my idiot friends put in a cd when the other one had not come out yet, so for a month i wondered why my head unit wouldnt eject the cd...and the reason was there were two in there. so i took it apart and fixed it, but another problem has come up. when i play the music loud with the subs, music skips for no reason, at levels it should easily reach. at one point the words wouldnt even play and all i heard was the subs, but the words kicked back in eventually. i dont know if it is an overheating problem, or a speaker problem with my 6x9's in the back. it might be a wiring problem. help is needed

If the subs keep going but the highs stop then it isn't the cd.

If you have components that have a safety on them maybe they are cutting out becuase you are overdriving them.
