Question EBAY item cool, but worth it?

Check this item out. Sounds sweet considering I want to get rid of the orange led on my dash. I already got rid of the color filter around the stereo. I don't like it now. Is this LED Ebay item sound any good, or is it more trouble then worth dealing with? The install sounds confusing a little.

Thanks

dude you're buying LED's resistors and wire. all can be had at radio shack for about $5. try searching for "gels" too, some people put these little gel things over the lights and got the color change. the advantage of leds is that they are brighter. more of a pain to do though.

Yes, but does he know which resistors to buy? You can't just drop in any value resistor.

BTW, I thought about doing something like thsat myself, but I don't think it owuld look good in my 03, unless I could change the red ring around my gauge cluster, the buttons for the door lock, windows, cruise control, and sunroof to blue as well.

the resistors depend on the diode. if you but some diodes we'll tell you what resistors to use. 1k ohm and it's hard to go wrong though, diodes aren't very picky...

I suggest getting the component individually. You'll save cash and have greater flexibility as to what you want. There's a full explanation of LED selection and resistor choices in Ocelaris' thread on modding the gauges with LEDs. If all else fails, PM him - he's very happy to answer any LED-related questions!
