Fiberglassing Question?

one last question, and my amp rack/spare tire well conversion can be completed. I already have the first layer done (to get basic shape of spare well). It drew up a little in some places(yeah, i used fleece too as opposed to a first layer of glass, and i put alum foil down in there so i could take it out of the car to work on it). Now that i have that first layer, I can now begin to add additional layers and bondo to make it a smooth uniform surface. My question is can i use masking tape to hold the pieces of glass mat in place so that i can clean up the curves some? meaning, can i tape the piece of glass and then apply the resin over the masking tape and glass, and still retain structural integrity? (i plan on doing 2 layers of the non-weave mat, then 2 additional of the weave mat, then applying bondo to remove pit marks, low places, and smooth the entire surface out.)

try a hot glue gun to hold it in place... works quite well in my experience

i read somewhere that it is easier to soak the fb in the resin and then lay it on the surface rather than brush it on. i'd suggest brushing on the resin AFTER you're done with the fb then sand it to smooth it out.

im not gonna soak it, cause its fairly cold, and humid here, so i am having to add extra hardner to the resin to make it set in a reasonable amount of time without sagging. but thanks for the advice.
