Good 6X9s that will fit?

Hey everyone, currently I have a JL Audio XR Component set in the front amped up, being pushed to their maximum power handling, while in the rear I just have a JL Audio 12w3v2. I want to get some rear 6x9s and just run them off the deck, fading the music more to the front so I can play the rear speakers loud enought without them being distorted. I am thinking about a pair of JL Audio VR6x9s, but I know they won't fit in the stock location, if I get these then do I need to use some 1" spacers or something? Also, will the overall effect of getting rear speakers make the music louder throughout the cabin? Thanks for your help.

darklegacy540 is on a distinguished road
Well you have a few options. You can, as you said, make some "gaskets" so the 6x9 will be mounted up a bit higher so the bottom of the magnet won't hit on those bars that go across of the trunk. I also have the same component system and the same subs as you.. Good choice by the way. Anyways, I think I'm gonna make an entire new rear deck out of fiberglass.. then use like a nibbler or a dremel or something of that nature to cut out the speaker holes bigger.. then fiberglass some 6.5" holes.. then buy another JL Audio XR components.. Just a though though. Otherwise, I have some Rockford Fosgate 6x9"s.. I don't remember the model number or what series they are or anything but they just barely fit.. Once I get my car back on Monday, if I remember, I'll let you know what model they are..

you can do the gas shock trunk mod to get rid of those springs bars that dont let you place the spks..

I don't want to do more than is necessary. I am just basically setting myself up for more work if I convert my trunk springs to gas shocks or whatever. If I recall, when taking off my rear deck, there is a good amount of space in between the metal frame and the rear deck itself, which is why I think there is enough room to fit a 1" spacer between these JL 6x9s and not have the speaker hitting the rear deck. Does anyone know the maximum length of an aftermarket speaker replacing a stock 6x9 without a spacer?

I tried mounting my Infinitys higher and it wont work because of the slope of the glass in the back. I have boston pro's now but as soon as I can get around to installing some gas shocks I will be moving back to my Infinity kappa perfects
