Everytime i post, i swear to god i alwayz mess it up. alrite so basically i built myself a false floor trunk. Thanks alot to WHiterabbit and his awesome Diy. You can check out my trunkhttp://www.7thgencivic.com/memberrid...r=10144&sort=2 With my floor tho, i only have about 12 inches until i hit the ceiling of the trunk. Therefore i cant use a q-logic sub box. At the moment i have my subwoofer in a box facing upward.
So what i decided id do is build a custom box into the trunk floor. My main concern is how the sound quality would be. I have a 12 inch alpine type r. I was thinking about making something kinda like what derek has, with light coming up. Anybody got any suggestions for me?
That's one way to go. The sound quality won't change. You could always get free-air subs and throw them under the rear deck. There is also the side of the trunk like a JL stealth box.
vinnie sound quality can vary with size I have done something similar to you except i took out my spare tire and used the original floor and mounted to pionear 12 side by side and my amp on top althogh i am in the middle of redoing it because i found it on this site after i did it (i want something original) it sounds ok my speakers where intended more for a bandpass I have an aunt who worked for a company who dezigned speakers that got me a bunch of specs try to make it a one cubic foot box I think it would look nice if you moved the amp down and put the speaker by the seats one cubic foot doesnt mean 12 by 12 you know you would have to redo something but i think that is what would work out best i haved used store bought boxes, custom, and diy and still havent found out what works best. good luck
