Alpine settings
i have a cda-9813 and it is by far the most complicated HU ive had. i dont know anything about setting the crossover points and time correction. anyone have any idea how to make it sound so that i have good treble upfront and heavy bass in the back. i dont even know how to adjust the bass and treble because i dont know which frequency is for which. any help would be appreciated. i have pioneer rev components up front and pioneer 6x9 5ways in the back if that helps. i tried using the i-personalize site but its very complicated and i dont know what the heck they're talking about. anyone have the numbers to put in or the file that they downloaded from the site to burn to a CD? what should i set the crossovers to? anyways..thanks in advance for any help

Nope, I just tried to play it by ear....to confusing for me, considering I don't have any idea where to start, and couldn't do time correction since I don't know cabin size or anything, and didn't have basic stuff to start with. I just set the sub crossover to 20Hz, rear point to 50Hz, and front point to 125Hz. Try it if you want, but I don't know what it'll sound like.
When you're going through your crossover settings, it should say HPF (high pass filter) or something like that for your front and rear speakers. Just set the frequencies for the front higher than the rears. One of the options for your filters may also say "though" meaning that the HU will allow all frequencies to go to your speakers. That would probably be the one you want for your rears. Look through your owners manual. It will tell you how to adjust your settings. If you don't have the manual you can go to www.alpine1.com and download it.
I could give you the timing correction because I have the 9815 and I'm sure they're the same but it really depends on where you are sitting in the car because if you sit way back or if you sit closer to the steering wheel then the settings will be different. So I suggest you do it yourself. All you have to do is measure the distance from each speaker to where your head would be and then put those measurements in the I-Personolize section of the website. It's very easy. Just register, put in the type of HU you have and go to timing correction and it will explain everything.
My crossovers are set at 80 hz but the more important part when setting the crossover on the alpine decks is to turn up the db slope on the crossover. It comes factory set at 6db or 0 on the screen. If you hit the power button 3 times you can bump it up to a 24 db slope which i think sounds the best in my car.
so on the screen it will be 0 4 80
so on the screen it will be 0 4 80
