Well i think i have figured out what system i am gonna get. take at a look and post any suggestions, im looking for a balance between good sq and spl, so i decided with kicker. Btw, anyone know how the compvr sounds realative to the L7?

my setup is very close to yours and I can tell you that I find myself turning the bass down off 2 ported CompVR's so I can hear better midbass and crap, and thats off a 600.1 instead of a 1200.1, if you want balance then getting an L7 would be like putting a Solo-X magnet on one side of a see-saw so there goes your balance, what you got sounds good just get some nice amp kits and do a good install job and your set, good luck.
whyd you go all 1 brand?
personally i think comp vr 12's wont handle 600 rms a piece unless you go SUPER easy on the gains.
Comp vr vs l7, compvr is boomy as all hell, inaccurate, not transparent, and is the l7's bitch. id never run kicker subs, but if i had to, i wouldnt touch anything but an l7.
Syndrome - you could use a walmart amp kit and radioshack gold series rca's and with the proper install get the same sound as any "high end" amp kit. wire is wire, theyre both made of metal.
my suggestion, maybe look into some other brands for a sub amp because the 1200.1 is way overpriced.
i like my 600.4 ... the crossovers arent steep enough for me, but fine for you, im not even using them anymore... 600.4 has never given me problems in the last year an a half or so ive used it...
my main number 1 suggestion before anything though is to go into the store and listen to those rs6's... the best components in teh world are the ones YOU like best

Thanks guys, I went down to a store called auto luxuries near my house. I heard the components and really liked them, they sounded nice and crisp. I thought that the compvr subs weren't that good. It was too much loud bass, but some people like that. I want something that is deeper, I really like the way that the JL 12w7 sounded, but i dont feel like spending like $700 on a single subwoofer. Any suggestions?
the w7 is a whole different animal there...
what kinda budget were you looking at for subbass?
if youre looking for something of that caliber, youd probably be happy with a single sub... let me know a price and ill tell you whats the best in that range

if you want deeper, look into some 15's out there.
if you are looking for clean and deep, and arent concerned with loud, check out adire shivas, a single shiva will hit lower than even the 12w7, but not without a price.
its difficult to find really deep speakers with utmost clarity, i think yoru best bet is the brahma 15 with a solid killowatt amplifier, something like the arc 1500D, give it a solid 900 rms, which would be more than idea for SQ< give you that little extra bump for blockrocking, without costing an arm and a leg.
if you shop around, you cna get a B15 and arc amp both for less than $900, leaving you plenty for components, amplifiers, radio, sound processors, and a bit leftover for yoru install, too.

thanks white rabbit, ill look into to them, so far i haven't seen any bad reviews of it.
I like the Brahma 15, would the mtx 1501D work alright with the sub. Its only $430, I looks alright to me.

it wouldnt work to its potential... brahma 15 is dual 2 ohm voice coil, meaning 1 or 4 ohm operation...
if you wanted to save money, id get a hifonics brutus 1500D, goes for 301 shipped on ebay
if you wanted to spend a bit more, thered be other amps out there for ya

nope, but on the mtx, if you run it at 4 it wont be enough power, if you run it at 1, youll blow the amp

a buddy of mine got the brutus, and sold it the day after he got it, hated it.
id be dubius of the quality of that amplifier.
the bottom line, is if you want quality sound, youll want a quality amplifier, like the arc amplifier. 900 rms is PLENTY for SQ a perfect clear sound.
if you are looking to blockrock, then you cna totally go for an el-cheapo amplifier liek the jbl1200.1 or a rockford amp, your not gonna get the quality potential out of that woofer, but youll certainly get your SPL potential.

ya i think ill go for the arc, io didn't realise that i could get the 900 watts at 4 ohm. I thought only jl amps could do crazyness like that, im glad i asked you guys.

rabbit i cant believe ur friend didnt like the amp... I used to run rockford bd1500's... but i think the hifonics is way better imo... damn.. well i also gotta kicker amp runin to the sub too maybe thats whats makin it hit so hard... not the Boltar. damn.. u got me thinkin!
where can i buy the arc amp, im gaving a hard time trying to find a place that sells them?
it says "It features dual 2 Ohm voice coils (1/2/4 ohm wiring options)" so that means i can run it with a 2 ohm setup? true or false? linky
you could run at 2 ohm only if you hooked each coil up to 1 channel of a 2 channel amp that was stable at 2 ohms (most). but then again you could just bridge that same amp, make the same power usually and simplify wiring...
since its a dual 2 ohm woofer you cna only wire it for a 1 or 4 ohm load. the arc amp puts out 900 rms at 4 ohms, so youd be set.
the place to look for them would be ebay or used from someone on elitecaraudio forums, they swap out equipment so much over there its oimpossible NOT to find a great deal on top end equipment.
boosted, he wasnt running an XI hifonics, he bought the new BRUTUS amplifier. I run XI myself, have been pretty happy wiht them, the mass power they are able to deliver. they are a but strained for my personal tatses, but not enough to justify buying new ones for the time being, plus, i just took home a trophy for SQ, so its just more reason to stick with what i have for now.
the XI hifonics amplifiers are bitchin, for sure. but the zeus series and i guess the brutus too, have proven to me time and time again to provide lackluster power and the models i have experience with get too hot.
