Finally relocated my amp to the trunk..
Still the same buzzing... then it goes away when I use only one rca... but even with that i get a slight slight whine as the engine revs. loud popping when i hook up two rcas.
I did a 100% clean and professional style install.. all wires routed seperately, quality NEW cables used, gold plated terminals... the works.
Do you guys...
1) Think my amp is defective in any way?
2) Think those noise filters would work... if so.. what are they exactly and how do i use them? Do they at all sacrifice sound quality?
3) Since the amp isnt happy with two RCAs, one seems to work fine, but am i short changing anything like sound quality? Or should i use two y cables for both RCAs?

I had the same problem with mine....I'd try the noise filters, what do you have to lose? Really, can it hurt sound quality any more? And if they don't work, you're out like 15-20 bux. Then you can just ebay the stuff. What kind of amp is it, anyway?

it not the amp it the head unit...go back over how you have you head unit setup the wires that is. i have the same problemand you dont have to get noise filters. i think it has some thing to do with the lead turn on wire....take a look at that again see what happens

I've regrounded it to the chassis... instead of through the aftermarket harness... still same results... again my equipment is...
Alpine CDA 9807 HU
MTX 6304 4-channel Amp
Rockford 8 Gauge wiring/Rockford 4 gauge ground w/ gold terminals
Polk/Momo MM465 components in front/cerwin vega 3 ways in back
RCAs: Rockford Fosgate and Schoche.
PS -- Mystic... how does audio signal get to all four signal with the use of only one rca? I believe you, cause it works. Just don't understand how. But as I said, even with one RCA, there's still an ever so slight hum as I rev/drive.. and a LOUD pop when I turn on my HU. Can this pop do any damage to my speakers? It makes me feel like its going to blow the speakers!

The amp just uses the one input for both outputs...kind of like bridging. The pop you are getting sounds like when your amp turns on it sends feedback through all your speakers.....i'm not sure how you would go about fixing that, perhaps it's a defect in the amp. Have you checked to see if any of the speakers are shorting out inside the door? (bare speaker wire touching metal somewhere)
As far as the alternator whine while you drive, does it really bother you? Is it only audible with the music down low? Cause I get a *little* bit of it too with the music low, but I just ignore it......
edit: I think there may be something wrong with your amp....since 2 RCA's causes problems, while 1 works fine not matter what you do.....and the popping when it turns on, even with you completely re-wiring everything. So if you dont have any speaker wire touching metal somewhere, you might want to look into a new amp or something.....

I just had another thought....does that amp have a signal-sensing option? If it does, and it's set to turn on with signal sensing, and you are still feeding it a remote lead that *might* cause the popping....worth checking out.
