Question Sub n Amp Question???

i have kenwood 600 watt amp kac728s

max 4 ohms does 200w x 2
600w x 1

normal 4 ohms rated 100 x 2
300 x 1

i'm using 2 kenwood 10 in speakers in bandbass they max out at 300 rated at 150

i also bought new 12 in kenwood 700 watt max 175 rms.

when i run the amp with hte two subs it kick ***.
But when i go run it bridged with the 12 it like sucks.

I dont know alot about amps but i thought one sub would do better.

Is the 12" in a sealed box?

Generally bandpass boxes get really loud but lack in sound quality. They tend to get really boomy and everything sounds like its the same note. Sealed boxes on the other hand tend to be very accurate. Its a trade off between volume and sound quality.

And no, one isn't better than two, and two isn't better than one. The setup that works well together and integrates together is the better one. If your a bass nut, and the two 10's in the boomy bandpass is the type of sound your after, then thats the best one.

I had two SoundStream SPL 12's then switched to a single 12" Eclipse Aluminum. I am in heaven. Why, for me one sub was best because I need the trunk space.

2 subs in a bandpass box will kick ***, but will lack sound quality. They are generally 6db's louder than sealed boxes. They sound boomy and don't provide clean, tight bass like a sealed does. A sealed box generally requires twice the amount of power than a ported or bandpass box to produce the same spl. A bigger sealed box will be louder than a smaller one, but u will sacrafice sound quality, but not too much. A sub can handle more power if it is in a smaller sealed box, but u need to juice the **** out of them to get the spl. Try stuffing your box with poly-fil stuffing. About 1 pound per cu. ft. This will slow down the sound waves inside the box and will fool the sub into believing that it is actually in a larger enclosure.
