Installed amp. Couple problems..
Installed my MTX 6304, the clarity and power is absoultely stunning. And im using old cerwin vega 3 way 6x9s too! Anyway... couple of issues... im getting that infamous noise through the speakers as the engine revs. And Yes I ran the power seperately from the RCAs. And also as I turn on the car, the speakers make this LOUD high pitch POP sound. (sounds like my speakers blew)... whats wrong? I spliced my remote wire into the existing remote wire for my sub ... that shouldnt cause that right?
first stock deck or after market?
second i had same problem had to route rca's above black plastic air ducts, then back down into the deck. they were picking up noise from all the metal back there

Re ground the amp? Why/where/how? I grounded that sucker pretty good to the floor. And yeah the 17' RCA is all coiled up behind the HU (Alpine 9807) maybe thats causing the noise? The amp is under the passenger seat.

Please? Any answers/ Perhaps from Ludlam or Mohawk or White rabbit? (the big 3) hehe..... the ground i did seemed tight, tightned it til the screw started stripping on top (where you put the driver) (not the actual thread)

you said that you have a 17' rca cable, and it's wound up behind the amp, maybe that's where the problem is, 17' of rca cable is a lot of cable just sitting there waiting to cause noise. I've never personally mounted an amp under the seat of my cars, you said the ground is solid so i'm assuming it must be. For trial and error purposes, try unwinding your 17' of rca and placing the unused part of the cable elsewhere in the car for temporary purposes, like sitting in front of your pasenger seat o driver seat or whichever side your amp is mounted, just so see if maybe the big wind of rca cable behind the deck is causing the problems. There are many different electrical forces i guess you can say behind your head unit and in the dash of the car, if the problem is coming from the rca cable all bundled up behind your deck then you would know that you should either buy shorter rca cables, or maybe mount the amp in the trunk of your car.
good luck finding the source of your problem, i know from past experience that engine whine can be quite a pain in the ****.

the pop usually requires an amp turn on delay module, cheap from stereo shops that have them available... iv eonly seen them at Auto Sound and Security...
now, remember why you routed power and RCA separately, right? becuase the RCA could pick up noise form teh power wire? check it out, yoru RCA cable could pick that up ANYWHERE there is mass power flowing. have your RCA cable going across the underside of the back seat? ...... right where yoru fuel pump is? can pick up noise there, too! its a possibility, anyways....
as for your ground, current travels in teh shortest distance possible! so if that distance brings yrou current somewhere dirty, that ground becomes dirty. you could have spent all teh time in teh world making the ground solid, and perfect, but it might turn out that the LOCATION is dirty. regrounding four inches to the left wont fix a dirty location for a ground! gotta be mass located to a different spot, hopefully not drawing current where it will pick up noise.
but thats the issue with grounding, and one of the reasons its so important. im not very fluent with ground loops and thier effects, youll have ot ask someone else

I'm having a somewhat similar issue:
I just installed my amp (US Acoustics 4065 on a Pioneer 6400 HU), and I get a soft thump (even though it's supposed to have an anti-thump circuit) and sometimes, not always, a moderately loud *pop* from the speakers. I'm not experiencing any engine-whine noise, though - it's absolutely silent after the initial noise(s). The amp sounds great!
I will try redoing my ground, though; I used a rather small screw to attach it to the frame. Thanks for the info!

Thanks guys and thanks White Rabbit. Yeah looks like i have to stuff the rest of the 17' rcas under the carpet.. i just hope i dont feel or SEE a raised hump under the carpet... and i guess my speaker wires do run somewhat next to the 4 g power wire... i'll have to reroute them.
you can also use a relay to delay the turn on a little bit and if you are using an aftermarket headunit ground that to the chassis somewhere also. not in the harness. Also, turn your gains down.
