Hey i would like to know what size speakers come in the front doors of the 01-03 civic sedan. I would like to put components in, and to order them i need the size. I would like to know if component speakers will give me more bass without a sub. Because my dad bought the 2003 dodge ram hemi, and it has bass up the wazooo but i looked for a subwoofer and i didnt find one, so i just want to know if i would get bass even halfway near his with some components.

well the size is 6.5, you can confirm this at either www.crutchfield.com or www.sounddomain.com . As far as bass, it depends on the RMS of the speaker, how low can it go (human hearing is 20hz to 20khz or 20,000hz) and how the speaker is mounted. If you want good bass and mids go with diamond audio or my personal fav audiobahn (www.audiobahninc.com) find a dealer around you, have them put some 6.5 speakers on for ya, listen, ask them questions like what is the range in hz and RMS of the speaker, and how they have the set you are listening to wired up/powered.

hey thanks a lot, i really needed that, i was wondering what you think about some audiobahn components all the way around? Also i need to know if i should amp them or should i just let them run off of the stock head unit? cause i really like the way it looks like it came with the car. But if i am unable to use the stock head unit i plan to put a 7 or 9 inch widescreen in the place and then fabricate a benzel to fit around the screen (i work at a custom truck shop so i can fabricate stuff) and then i would have to mount the screen right in the space below that pocket(or if you have an lx or ex right below the ashtray) and that way it would be less conspicuous.

Before buying any speaker, I MUST hear them in the set up that I will have. I have a set of the 6x9 (not installed yet) and just got some subs, I have alot of audio work to be done yet on my car, just have the wiring done (not hot for amps yet) and the head unit and the changer in. Some of audiobahn's stuff is high RMS, my 6x9 are 215rms for the pair!!! so yes i could run them right off the head unit, but they are WAY below the RMS. so i will amp them. Have the dealer shut off the amp and use just the head unit if possible.... That should give you an idea. For the screen, go for it! I would love a video screen that I could have a slide over cover for so that when closed, the car looks stock... that would be bad @$$!!!!
