How to make a SUB look like an interior speaker...

yeah, I agree. Rockford makes nice stuff, don't get me wrong, but there are better choices. Rockford is great for middle of the road type of stuff, IMO, but if you're going for the best SQ, there are definately much better choices. Diamond Audio, JL, and Eclipse to name a few... Just my .02 cents.

I spent a total of $250 on my 2 fosgate he2's
And they get loud enough to me and that's all that matters.....
Although my next upgrade will be to a different brand name, i'm looking for better SQ

They are both rated with the same power handling (2kW RMS).

Ummm...i was at DB Drag World Finals this year. Art Turgon blew one sub on his last run of the weekend (while setting a record), The Riely brothers didnt blow a sub (and set a world record), Tommy Mckinney didnt blow a sub (and set a world record and it was his fourth world championship using all RF )....are we noticing a pattern. Not only that all those subs had 6000-8000 watts going to each sub. Four BD1500's to each sub. saying that the 13.5 w7 will not blow is not correct, its mechanical and can break. Sorry about your luck with RF. I have used them for years, grossly over powered them and have only blown one sub, a punch HX2 12" in a 4.75 cubic foot box witha 1000a2 bridged to each coil. It did 150.0 db. Not bad for one 12. I have used JL and was satisfied. They make a quality product. youre entitled to your opinion about RF but dont say we blew 20 subs.
Also....check out this link if you think the JL is the end all of DEEP SUBS...looks like my ex-employer just faded on them

W7 is a great sub and very inovative and is one of the top subs out there right now but its pretty much all in the install

For power handling, output, and overall sound quality in one package. . . it's really hard to beat a pair of Diamond Audio M6 12" subs. Feed them 1200W rms power and they're VERY happy.
And for about $500 more you can have the TDX versions. . . 1000W rms each.

to alex, those mtx subs might be better on paper, but will do they have the technology, the sq, and teh spl of teh w7? not quite
what separates the w7, the brahma, the betteraudio 15d2, and one or two other drivers from the rest of the world, is their ability to play both SICK volumes, and at the same time win sq competitions.
as to it not blowing, it will blow. i could blow a 13w7 with 200 watts if i wanted. plug a w7 into a 200 watt amp and have it sit on a table, feed it a 20 hz SUPER clipped SUPER distorted signal on full gain, and it wont last long. there is no unblowable sub. jl voids the warranty on the 13 after 2krms, yet nate munson claimed to hit 174 with a single 13w7 with 4800 rms. again nate munson claims a lot of things that havent been quite proven such as 169.8 with a single 10.
I personally would take a w7 over a rf sub. why? because technically speaking it is the absolutely most accurate sub bass driver on teh market, yet at the same time offers the second highest, if not highest linear excursion on the market giving us some NICE levels of volume.
chenz, you had your opinion, but you failed to back it with any real information which is why you got attacked.

It is not the size, but the motion of the ocean

...no use argueing over which sub is the loudest...we should let professionally officiated competitions be the judge of it.
...same with SQ too.
...for what YOU like use your own ears.
