lol.... Rockford's subs are pretty good though.... but damn look at that magnet. My 12" eclipse sub is bigger than that rockford. What size is that RF supposed to be?

3 times the price usually does warrant something to be 3 times larger

Mounting depth means nothing. RF subs hold more world records than any sub. Period.

only cause they use over 20 subs while in competition and havent really changed their design in YEARS... they just change the look off the sub... whereas JL audio is constantly improving their design for bigger and better products.. not to mention longevity... Im not saying that rockford is bad , but Ive had 3 rockford setups in three different cars ... and they've all blown due excessive use. 13.5 W 7 will not blow... it has a max watt rating of 4000

yeah, I agree. Rockford makes nice stuff, don't get me wrong, but there are better choices. Rockford is great for middle of the road type of stuff, IMO, but if you're going for the best SQ, there are definately much better choices. Diamond Audio, JL, and Eclipse to name a few... Just my .02 cents.

I spent a total of $250 on my 2 fosgate he2's

And they get loud enough to me and that's all that matters.....

Although my next upgrade will be to a different brand name, i'm looking for better SQ

JL makes some KICK *** subs, but c'mon, compare apples with apples...see the Team RF sub @

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ez2/M...yDesc=Speakers - Raw drivers/separates

They are both rated with the same power handling (2kW RMS).

Ummm...i was at DB Drag World Finals this year. Art Turgon blew one sub on his last run of the weekend (while setting a record), The Riely brothers didnt blow a sub (and set a world record), Tommy Mckinney didnt blow a sub (and set a world record and it was his fourth world championship using all RF )....are we noticing a pattern. Not only that all those subs had 6000-8000 watts going to each sub. Four BD1500's to each sub. saying that the 13.5 w7 will not blow is not correct, its mechanical and can break. Sorry about your luck with RF. I have used them for years, grossly over powered them and have only blown one sub, a punch HX2 12" in a 4.75 cubic foot box witha 1000a2 bridged to each coil. It did 150.0 db. Not bad for one 12. I have used JL and was satisfied. They make a quality product. youre entitled to your opinion about RF but dont say we blew 20 subs.

Also....check out this link if you think the JL is the end all of DEEP SUBS...looks like my ex-employer just faded on them

http://www.mtxaudio.com/headtohead/w7.cfm

W7 is a great sub and very inovative and is one of the top subs out there right now but its pretty much all in the install

yeah thats cool their comparin the two subs.. but their comparin a 10w7.. not a 13w7... Big difference there... the 13 is a new design in power handling and whatnot... its supposed to sound like 6 12inch normal DVC subs and believe me it does.

For power handling, output, and overall sound quality in one package. . . it's really hard to beat a pair of Diamond Audio M6 12" subs. Feed them 1200W rms power and they're VERY happy.

And for about $500 more you can have the TDX versions. . . 1000W rms each.

if the 12's are svc or dvc has absolutely no standing on how many speakers it sounds like.

to alex, those mtx subs might be better on paper, but will do they have the technology, the sq, and teh spl of teh w7? not quite

what separates the w7, the brahma, the betteraudio 15d2, and one or two other drivers from the rest of the world, is their ability to play both SICK volumes, and at the same time win sq competitions.

as to it not blowing, it will blow. i could blow a 13w7 with 200 watts if i wanted. plug a w7 into a 200 watt amp and have it sit on a table, feed it a 20 hz SUPER clipped SUPER distorted signal on full gain, and it wont last long. there is no unblowable sub. jl voids the warranty on the 13 after 2krms, yet nate munson claimed to hit 174 with a single 13w7 with 4800 rms. again nate munson claims a lot of things that havent been quite proven such as 169.8 with a single 10.

I personally would take a w7 over a rf sub. why? because technically speaking it is the absolutely most accurate sub bass driver on teh market, yet at the same time offers the second highest, if not highest linear excursion on the market giving us some NICE levels of volume.
chenz, you had your opinion, but you failed to back it with any real information which is why you got attacked.

I'd beleieve this statistic, subs can, and do handle extreme amounts of power very, now listen carefully, VERY VERY SHORT periods of time. If the surround and cone can hold up for that brief period, all you have to dela with is the intense heat in the voice coils. I have witnessed a pair of (excuse me for forgetting the model #) RF subs rated at 1kW (i think) take 3000 W RMS, mind you for a few burps in the judging lanes. I would say they played for a total of 1 minute in their lifetime and ended up gettin BAKED, BUT, it was long enough to win a dB drag SPL competition. Now, if the claim was this power level for the death match in USACI, then I'd say bullshit, lol

just my $0.02

It is not the size, but the motion of the ocean

...no use argueing over which sub is the loudest...we should let professionally officiated competitions be the judge of it.

...same with SQ too.

...for what YOU like use your own ears.

MTX designed it to compete the w7 but at a lower price. all that i have heard is the demo with five 15's and it was loud...SQ we will see...but since i dont work there anymore im waiting just like everyone else. they do look very good on paper though

what separates the w7, the brahma, the betteraudio 15d2, and one or two other drivers from the rest of the world, is their ability to play both SICK volumes, and at the same time win sq competitions.
Will Addcock is one of the top 3 pro SQ guys in the world using RF subs. You know its all in the install when it comes to SQ so dont hate. a lower end sub in the right box will sound better than a high end sub in the wrong box everytime. RF has the potential to win SQ though

I personally would take a w7 over a rf sub. why? because technically speaking it is the absolutely most accurate sub bass driver on teh market, yet at the same time offers the second highest, if not highest linear excursion on the market giving us some NICE levels of volume.
The W7 is a great sub and wish i had the coin to own one, but i have to stand up for my employer. I have seen our HE2 woofer...with 500 watts, with 1 inch excursion (one way) with no mechanical noise, no voice coil bottoming out. Our speakers have alot of excursion and technology also. both compnays make products

because we are offing opinions....ill take a Lightning Audio X1.15.4 Neo a X1.2000.1d amp

mmmmmmmmm...quad coil 15 with 2000 watts
