2006 shimmies after bumps

What would make a 2006 lx 4dr 17k miles shimmy after going over bumps above 50mph? Bumps can be average size, but immediately after going over them the car goes off balance (shimmies side to side) for a second or two and then regains "balance". Car has been sitting a while (Estate sale). No problems with the tires. Any thoughts? Thanks much.

bad shocks. never happened after i got "performance" HP shocks from tokico. oem is very soft and does not let the tire make contact with road as well after bumps. i had serious problems turning on bumpy roads cause it felt like the car was about to spin out.
