Volant or V2
My fiance just informed me that she had ordered a Volant intake system for me but the place she ordered it from is on back order. So she said I could wait or get something else. My second choice is the V2. Should I wait for the Volant or just get the V2 right now? I need a decision by the end of the day. Thanks.
Volant Pros
Cross-link polyethylene filter box and pipe(conducts less heat than metal)
Box protects from heat
Here's what it looks like if you don't know

I say try the Volant. It seams like it would work. The V2 gave little to no gain at all in the 6th gen dyno posted by HondaGuru some time ago.
I own a V2, and i think its pretty good. I can only compare it to a AEM CAI, because thats the only other intake i have owned which I had on a 99 CIVIC 2dr EX.. which is no more... stolen, stripped, and gone.
Anywayz, on my 02 CIVIC 2dr EX, the V2 is very nice. I dont like noise for no reason, so if u drive normally u dont hear anythign, but as soon as u gun it... u can hear a nice deep air intake sound. Which is waht i like but when u cruise at 3.. or even 4k RPM its quiet as if its stock, but if u gun it even a little u hear it. So its nice give u noticeable power gain and only makes noise when it should.
I respect the INjen intake owners, unfortanly, i never owned one to compare it to.
Also if u are intrested in the V2, check out aempower.com and click on sport compact cars.. and read some reviews.. i think trubo magazine did a review and said it out performs SRs and CAIs.
Hope this helps..

Oh and by the way.. V2 doesnt reach out of the engin bay like the traditional CAIs do.. so when i got mine.. i was liek WTF.. i paid more then a CAI for somthign that looks like a SR... but only after u install it and drive aroudn do u appricate it.

Good info Elite! I've wanted to get a V2 for awhile, but I'm waiting on the H/E part of the equation before I do. Everyone seems ready to jump AEM at the first mention of it without actually trying the new product. So again thanks for the info!

Thanks guys..... that helps but I am still unsure. I will probably just go with the V2 even though I like the way the Volant looks better. Elite, do you have pics of the V2 installed in your car?

I never heard of volant. I have an AEM cai and i am happy with it. I might move up to the V2 one day. It does produce little gains over the v1 cai so little is better than nothing to me.

go with the volant.
hey elite you can confirm something for me.. does the v2 for the 7thgen EX look like this?
or is it that with a 2nd tube not shown in the pic?
cuz if its just that... I dont see how they claim its a cold air.
if there is a 2nd tube.. it probably extends down to the tranny like the V1
anyway just wondering... cuz info is good. and its nuts for people to pay 260-280 for that.

You can get the v2 for $245 shipped at www.importhorizon.com. I think that is a pretty good price.
