HP Racing Full Street Header
Hey all, ive searched around yet i couldn't find straight answers for these questions:
Is the HP Full Street Header legal?
Do i need to modify my engine in any way? cut engine mounts?
Ceramic / Chrome (i have polished intake and polished strut bar, so whats more important, matching or preventing heat)
O2 sensor modifications?
does it change the noise of my exhaust? louder? deeper? obnoxious?
is it worth 225.80?
does it come with a downpipe?

You searched and couldn't find any answers to your questions? You must have searched on a diff. forum then because this is brought up almost every day. The Hp racing header is not street legal, you have to shave a little piece of the mount so it dosen't vibrate if you have an EX 5 spd, I think it only comes in chrome (at least that's all I could find), it comes with the downpipe ( it's full racing header) and it makes your exhaust a tid bit louder, but not really noticable, you have to have a o2 simulator for the engine light, it gives the best gains of any other header available for our cars, and it's worth every cent if you want the best performance available. Search a little harder next time.

The List of the Header ... See the Ceramic one that is 225.80? im guessing that its for street use?

do i still get significant gains???
shorty still better than the dc sports shorty???
i dont want to eliminate my cat so the race header is def out of the question. ... thanks

I think a few people that have bought the "shorty" have said that they could tell an improvement. The DC from what I hear is crap as far as gains are concerned. Since your not going with the full race header, your not going to get the full benefit, but you should be happy with the shorty. I hope this helps!!!

how much are u paying for the short/top portion header?
if u're paying over 150 shipped.
its not worth it.
no short header are worth it unless u're flowing a lot more in and out than stock... (and an intake doesn't justfy a header... IMO)
but yeah i'm only using a header cuz I got it for under 100 shipped.
even then I duno if its worth it. I'll find out if this one does anything. probably wont...
and if it does give u the 1-2 hp... u wont be able to tell where it gives that power, and even if u know where.. u wont feel that 1-2 hp.
butt dyno is really really difficult.... FYI.

well i mean, i do want to ad some more performance to my car ... and i would like some headers .. but i want my car to be legal, i live in boston and they are a bi**h here about the emissions, if u get caught without a cat its a $20,000 fine or more. so it would be key if they could make a header and downpipe that hooks right to my cat

the reason why we are restricted to short header as everyone would call it...
is because our downpipe isn't flanged to the cat convertor... .its WELDED to it...
thats why we dont see any other design due to length restriction...
HP went and made a 4-1 with "highflow cat"... they went and replace... because thats the only way...
the other way is... find a header that fits.. cut off the stock downpipe... and weld the header before the cat.

If you are wanting a header just look over in the for sale forum a couple of people are selling their DC Sports header. It will give you the same results as any other shorty header....looks and maybe 1-2 hp. If you want to get the most hp out of the deal get the hp with the high flow cat. I think im gonna get a dc header just cuz i don't feel like messing with emmissions and O2 simulators..etc. but mainly im just tired of looking at that headshield

try to get it for a cheaper price if u're going to get a shorty header..
I just got an OBX header... its a DC rip off... I got it for like 95 shipped. so its not so bad.
I dont expect anything.. I dont even know why I got it. for looks I guess. or just curious to see if it does anything.
I had a previous header... it was a generic design.. the tube diameter was definitely bigger than stock and for some reason I felt more low-mid range...
but I'm not sure if that was a placebo effect or not. lol.
I duno why I got rid of it.. hmm. I guess I needed money.
but if u can get a top section for cheap.. and if u really want one.. grab one.
personally I'll just save up and buy something else.
