Chrome Front Hood Strip removal
ok who knows about that front chrome hood strip? i havent looked at it, so i wonder if someone has. can it be removed from a sedan, and is the hood smooth under it? will the hood look good with it removed? i am thinking that it will, but not sure. is it plastic or metal? does anyone have close-up pics of it removed?
thanks.

familyman did this...it looks good. yeah, only sedans (i think LX and EX models only) have the chrome.
there are 2 screws on the underside of the hood that you have to unscrew and then kinda slide the chrome piece off with whatever is holding it in the back. then replace it with the color you want off the coupe. easy.

I just took mine out while I wait for a matching trim to come in the mail. There are four bolts under the hood, then a clip in the middle that you can pry off with a screwdriver. It looks okay, but you can see the holes when it's off.

mine's held on with 4 bolts. I wouldn't say take it off until you have another one ready to go on. There are holes in the hood where the bolts go and it looks kinda nasty.

Those bolts were easy, but that middle piece was a pain in the ***, I think I actually broke the clips. Oh well, it still has the four bolts to hold it in.
I just replaced my chrome strip with the body-colored version last night. It took all of 10 minutes! I followed the instructions, and it was actually easier than the steps outlined - unscrewed 4 bolts, and it popped right off. Looks so much better with the matching white...
I got mine at handaaccessories.com for about 20 bucks, shipped.

What about the trunk? I wouldn't mind replacing the chrome strip on the hood to NHBP. The catch being if I could replace the trunk one as well. I like continuity and having the front NHBP and the back chrome would bother me to no end.
