Whats the best out there???
I am looking into getting a radar/laser detector and i was wondering what the best brand was out there. i have a cobra but its a piece of S#!T so lookin to get better

no im not. the whole point of getting a radar detector is to avoid police/tickets. my $100 cobra detector i got at best buy helps me avoid the police everyday. it helps me watch for speed traps before they happen. just because u have a $500 radar detector doesnt mean you can go 100mph down the road all the time unless the cops in your town are ****ing morons. if a cop sees you going that fast but cant get a radar read out because yours scrambled it or whatever theyre still most likely going to pull your *** over, its common sense because you could kill yourself or someone else. your examples are all performance based...ferrari and honda? eibach and ebay? but i know damn well im not going to buy a $500 radar detector anytime soon unless it can make my car hop up and fly away or something. its plain rediculous.
Sure they will pull you over. And you might get a good tongue lashing. But in PA at least, your not going to get a ticket (well...not for speeding...unsafe driving maybe) the difference between the 100 and the 500 is better circuitry, less false positives, and usually a better range. Am I saying you need a 500 dollar detector? Hell no. But it is my opinion that the $500 is well worth the investment if you plan on doing a lot of speeding. Insurance prices alone after a ticket could add up to 500 extra per year.

i can tell you this guys... my old cobra 10 band-xr 1050 or something like that gave me about 2 speeding tickets a year. but since 01 when i got the valentine1, i havent even got one yet in 01, 02, and this year yet.
