Race Belts....

This is a quickie... I don't want to use the harness on the street, just for autoX... does the fact that it's not DOT approved make a difference (in other words... will the SCCA care? and will I pass tech inspection provided its properly installed)? I realize its not on the street, I have no plans to ever use them on the street, but with tires, DOT approval makes a difference. I'm looking at the Sparco Double Buckle harness... and it's not DOT approved.

Renamazazo is an unknown quantity at this point
Are you a spokesman for Schroth Flyrice? J/K, I'll probably get a set of those sometime in the future when I have money and a need to get them.

Anyone have any experience or know anyone who has used the Sparco Double Buckle 3 point or the OMP DA427?
These are the 2 I'm looking at and they're basically similar...

The OMP is a few dollars more, but it keeps my Italian theme going
... but I want to know if anyone has any feedback on either one. Both being well known racing houses, I doubt there will be any issues, but lets see.

As far as I know The SCCA does not require that the Belts used are DOT approved. they have to be Mounted in an approved way (See the Solo II Rule Book). and I know that Both OMP and Sparco are good race equipment manufacturers.

Just so you know DOT approval is ushually the MINIMUM safty spec required for car safty equipment. As in DOT is not all that great. Racing bodys have their own approval that is much more thuro then DOT, as in for club racing, the Harnesses must be replaced with new or Examened by the Manufacture for Re-approval Once a year. DOT would never do such a thing.

If you are looking for something strictly for Autocross May I sugesst getting a Torso Harness Its what I use, and its cheep. 14.99
