is the AEM V2 for real or all hype?
As most of us know AEM has released a new line of 'revolutionary' cold air induction systems. This line is called the AEM V2. Aem claims that:
The Science of Cold Air Technology Has Evolved
The AEM V2 Cold Air utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping), to create multiple frequency sound waves that help charge the cylinders with air throughout the entire rpm range.
We have realized significant power gains—even over our original Cold Air induction systems—with the AEM V2.We are confident that it is the most sophisticated, power producing air induction system on the market. (www.aempower.com)
But are these claims for real? The V2 has not been released yet for the 7th generation civics, but for many its an anticipated upgrade from their base line aem cai.
What are you opinions? do you think that this new CAI will make a huge difference for our engines?
Personally i think that cold air is colr air no matter how it gets to the engine, but i could be wrong..what do you think?

The V2 did NOT show gains over the V1.

there's some validity behind how the V2 works...
but IMO, its nothing worth spending money on if you already have a CAI.
if anything, it doesn't work any worse (or at least, not that much worse) than its regular CAI, so it may still be an option for other buyers.
personally I wouldn't spend the money on it though.
or any CAI for that matter.

This has a few HP numbers, but no torque, and it has no dyno chart

Going fast isent about your peak number.. if you are putting down 300HP to the wheels for only 5 RPMs of the power band, it probably doesnt do a whole lot for speed, right?!?!? Peak numbers are not an appropriot way to measure how effective a performance product is.
