Grillecraft upper grille?

How hard is it to install a grillcraft upper grille? I heard you have to take the front bumper completely off. Is that true?

yes, you prolly have to take the front bumper off on all of the aftermarket grills, due to the snaps holding the oem grill in.
its harder then it sounds trust me, if you can bend down and use a flathead then your fine.

You don't have to, but it is easier to work on the car with the front bumper off.

So it would be easier just to spend a few more bucks and have it installed at a shop

naw diy bro, taking off the front bumper isnt that hard just clips and screwdriver. most shops would charge like 30 bucks or more for that which could be better spent elsewhere.

few bucks? no way.

when i was at the honda dealer to buy the Sedan style Radiator cover to fit my new grill, i just felt like asking for an estimate on how much it would be if i had them install the grill for me. u know what the mechanic said? "well...i've never really taken apart the grill like that. i'd say...at least $195. and i dont even know if i can still do it". i seriusly started to laugh. no joke. how ridiculous is that? not only did a honda dealer mechanic NOT know how to do it, but he gave me this retarded estimate. save urself the money and embarrassment. take a half hour out of ur day and install it urself. i'm still very new to this whole civic scene (got my car barely a month ago). and at first, it can seem a bit intimidating to take the bumper off and all. but once u actually get down to doing it, i guarantee you'll be like, "wtf?? thats all it is??". it's so easy, once ur done with it, you'll laugh about it.

but, you CAN install the grill w/o taking off the bumper. what u gotta do is..
1) take off the 4 top clips holding down the radiator cover on top
2) bend back the radiator cover as far as u can w/o causing any damage or breaking anything, and use one of those bendable cable screw driver things and u can reach the screws taht are pretty far in deep that hold down the front grill. but this can be more difficult, because some of the screws are kinda hard to reach. just take off the bumper.
